Hello everyone!
Playing the piano is one of my few hobbies, one that I enjoy a lot. I don't even remember how long I've been playing exactly, but it must be around 13 years. I took 7 years of lessons, all classical, but since I'm not taking them anymore I got more interested in jazz and especially improvisation, which I'm trying to get better at.
Other pianists I listen to include Keith Jarrett, Bill Evans, Chick Corea, Peter Nordahl (with Lisa Ekdahl singing) and some more I don't remember the names. I also like Jean Michel Jarre's music.
One reason I started recording what I play was that I actually got access to equipment that allowed me to. I'm no audio expert, but I try my best at all the technical issues that arise and I sure hope that the result is enjoyable. Of course it won't sound as good as a professionally recorded CD and at times, the piano is a bit out of tune, but... enjoy or don't, but tell me what you think! :)
A journey from Lydian to Lokrian.
A pretty well known one.
C minor is probably the scale I feel most comfortable with and the chord progression is one of my favourites for improvisation: "Cm7 C? Fm7 Cm", and later "Fsus4 F Fm Cm". Note that chromatic path...
This was a really spontaneous one, in the sense that a minutes before I started, I had no idea what I was going to play. For being more an experiment than anything else, I didn't turn out so bad.
Improvisation in D minor, featuring "Dm Gm A(b9)" and if I remember correctly "Dm A/C# C G/B Bb A(b9)"
A spontaneous improvisation in G minor.
An improvisation based on two simple chords: Bm, E9.
An oddity based on a scale, which might best be described as Mixolydian(b2, b6). It's surprising how easy it was to get along in this odd scale, which I got from Keith Jarrett.
